Putsborough is at the southern end of Woolacombe Bay and being farther away from the general bustle of Croyde or Woolacombe means that the beach is usually quieter than neighbouring beaches. The golden long sweeping sands are renowned for their cleanliness and beauty.

There is an award-winning toilet block, Surfboard hire and sauna is available; there is a lovely Beach shop / Café and dogs are welcome all year round, although there is a slight restriction at the very southern end below the Beach shop from April until the end of October.

There is a beach car park overlooking the bay with disabled spaces, however, direct beach access does involve some slopes and / or a few steps

It is a truly a beautiful beach with all the facilities for a great day out.

Parking

Disabled parking spaces are available on the far left-hand side as you enter the car park through the barrier

The carpark surface from the disabled parking to the slipway is slightly bumpy.

Wheelchairs

Putsborough have two of their own beach wheelchairs plus one Access For All beach wheelchair. These can be hired free of charge from the office at the entrance with a voluntary donation suggested.

A Banana Board is also available to borrow.

An Airtushi inflatable seat insert for babies and toddlers, that fits in the Hippocampe beach wheelchair is available to borrow.
Giving support to smaller children. Safety guidelines on the packaging should be followed.

Beach access

There are two concrete slipways on to the beach at Putsborough. One at the far end and one accessed by going through the shop/cafe which will be tricky in a beach wheelchair with space limitations. Please note due to the rugged location and natural environmental conditions here the slipways are quite steep. Where possible and safe to do so staff will help you if requested at the office where you entered the carpark.

Ensure you have adequate support required for you to get onto and off the beach.

Toilets

Changing rooms
